XP Media Center heading for UK

PCs running Windows XP Media Center Edition are finally expected to reach the UK this year, reports VNUnet. Companies planning to introduce them "include Elonex, Evesham Technology, Hi-Grade Computers, Hewlett Packard, Packard Bell, PC World and Time Group."

As Wininfo points out, there's already a free alternative at http://myhtpc.net/. "Although myHTPC is targeted at Home Theater Personal Computer users, it can serve many purposes. For example, it can be used to build a simple menu for children to access their programs. It can also work very well with kiosk and touch-screen applications," says the site.
