Xherdan Shaqiri has sent a message to Liverpool fans are completing a move to Lyon on Monday.
The Swiss international completed the £9.5 million move after expressing his desire to leave the club this summer in search of regular first team football.
The winger was also linked with a move to Italy, with Lazio among the clubs interested, but Lyon made the player a priority won the race to sign him after improving on their initial £4m offer submitted a couple of weeks ago.
Shaqiri shared on Instagram: "Dear fans and Liverpool FC, I will miss you!

"You and this special club with the unbelievable Anfield stadium.

The 29-year-old rose through the ranks in his homeland with FC Basel before joining Bayern Munich in 2012.
After a number of loan spells in Italy with Inter Milan, he joined on a permanent basis in 2015 before eventually moving to Stoke City that same summer.
He spent three seasons with the Potters but after they were relegated following the 2017/18 season, Liverpool decided to activate his £13m release clause.
Shaqiri's three successful years at Anfield will be remembered fondly as he won the Champions League and Premier League in that time.
He never quite became a starter under Jurgen Klopp with the likes of Mohamed Salah above him in the pecking order - injuries also hampered his game time.
Shaqiri made 63 appearances in total for the Reds, scoring eight goals and registering nine assists in all competitions.
Liverpool shared on the club website on Monday: "The Switzerland international finalised a switch that will see him embark on a new chapter in his career with the Ligue 1 club.
"He departs the Reds with winner’s medals in the Premier League, Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup, having scored eight goals in his 63 appearances under Jürgen Klopp.
"Now he is set for a fresh challenge in France after a permanent deal was agreed with Lyon.
"Everybody at Liverpool FC thanks Xherdan for his contributions over the past three seasons and wishes him the very best for the rest of his career."
