The XFL has officially relaunched, beginning with a doubleheader on Saturday.
The DC Defenders topped the Seattle Dragons, 31-19, and a matchup between the Houston Roughnecks and the Los Angeles Wildcats ended in a 37-17 home victory for Houston.
Here’s a look at just three former Titans who particularly stood out on the day.
WR Austin Proehl, DC Defenders.
Proehl, a Titan for only a day back in 2018, was one of the biggest standouts on the opening weekend.
He reeled in five catches on 10 targets for 88 yards and a pair of scores — his most impressive being a 57-yard touchdown reception to help build a Defenders lead the Dragons couldn’t compete with.
DB LaDarius Wiley, Los Angeles Wildcats
Wiley saw action in four preseason games for the Titans in 2019 after going undrafted and failing to make the 53-man roster or the practice squad.
He posted four tackles as a leader on defense, with one pass defensed and an interception on the loss.
LB Kaelin Burnett, Houston Roughnecks
Burnett appeared in five games for the Titans, getting another chance at a professional football career in the city the franchise started in.
