XFL taps Seahawks legend Jim Zorn as Seattle coach and GM

The XFL has added another big name to run the front office of one of its teams. Former Seattle Seahawks quarterback and Emerald City legend Jim Zorn will be coach and GM of the team in that city when the league kicks off in 2020.

Zorn began his career for the expansion Seahawks in 1976 and played nine seasons for them. He threw for better than 20,000 yards and 107 touchdowns in Seattle. He then finished his career with a year in Green Bay and one game in Tampa Bay.

Zorn and Steve Largent were the first famous QB-WR combo to play for Seattle.

His head coaching record features a different Washington, the team in the NFC East. Zorn coached Washington in 2008 and ’09. After an 8-8 first season, the team dropped to 4-12 in his second and final season.

Two other Coach/GM for the league have been named: Bob Stoops in Dallas and Pep Hamilton in Washington.
