XFL announces television deals with FOX, ESPN networks

While the XFL won’t kick off until 2020, the fledgling spring league announced Monday its broadcast partners for its second go-round.

And they are big ones.

Check out the networks you will be able to find the league’s games if you choose via their tweet:

Vince McMahon and Oliver Luck have come up with a big deal in TV partners. A reason to, um, strut.

“We are thrilled to partner with ESPN and FOX Sports, two innovative media companies with extensive experience in world-class football production that will undoubtedly help us reimagine football,” McMahon, XFL Founder & Chairman, said. “The XFL broadcast schedule provides us with incredible reach and makes it easy for fans to watch our games consistently every weekend.”

The entire schedule is available below:

There will be no rights fees paid by the networks. In its first attempt, in 2001, the XFL partnered with NBC. The league started off with record ratings for its first week. Once the public watched the product and circus around the league, ratings plummeted to mind-numbing levels. The league folded after its first season.

Looks like a packed lineup and with the backing of these networks the league stands to make it through its entire first season — at least — unlike the deflated and defunct AAF. Sorry, Charlie … Ebersol.
