Xeinadin Group adds four-office South Yorkshire accountancy practice Smith Craven to the ranks

A South Yorkshire headquartered specialist accounting firm has been acquired by a national operator in the professional services sphere.

Xeinadin Group Ltd has swooped for Smith Craven, a practice closing in on 100 years of business support.

Based in Doncaster, with offices in Sheffield, Workshop and Chesterfield, a total of 54 staff are employed.

It will continue to be led by Andy Cribb and Kelvin Fitton, with the deal described as bringing additional strength to Xeinadin through its finance raising, audit, tax and due diligence services.

Xeinadin has more than 1,600 employees across the UK and Ireland and describes itself as one of the professional services market’s leading disruptors and consolidators, with annual revenues of over £100 million in its latest financial year.

It was formed through the merger of more than 100 small and medium-sized accountancy practices in the UK and Ireland in 2019.

Derry Crowley, chief executive of Xeinadin Group, said: “We are pleased to welcome Smith Craven to the Xeinadin Group. The firm is directly aligned with our vision and will provide even greater strength to our Manchester Central and North region. We look forward to working alongside Andy Cribb, Kelvin Fitton, and the team.

Earlier this year the group received a significant minority investment from private equity firm Exponent, and this acquisition is described as marking another step in the continued growth of the group.

Traced back to 1928, last year marked 75 years of the Smith Craven partnership, with Mr W Craven and MR A E Smith uniting after working together for several years.

Mr Fitton said: “Xeinadin is an ambitious and innovative group in the UK and Ireland professional services landscape and one which we are excited to be joining. Being part of the group will give our clients access to even greater resources and expertise, whilst enabling us to continue providing the local and personalised service which we pride ourselves on.”
