They’re two of the most highly anticipated gaming consoles of the year, and now a new leak gives us a hint at the pricing for the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.
Michael Pachter, a well-respected analyst at Wedbush Securities, claims that the Xbox Series X will be around £100 cheaper than the PlayStation 5.
He said: “From what I've seen, Sony's gonna have to charge $500 for the PS5. Microsoft has a big balance sheet.
"If they wanna cut the price by $100 – just price below [PS5] and subsidise the first 10million [units] – they will.
"So I think that they're waiting to have Sony blink first, and then they'll reveal the price. Very likely $400.”
Meanwhile, Peter Moore, a former EA and Microsoft executive, agreed with Mr Pachter’s predictions.

Speaking on the Bonus Round podcast, Mr Moore said: "Michael's right. What both companies are going through right now is: 'How much can we afford to lose in the first 12 to 18 months?'
"'What is our attach rate of software to hardware? What are we willing to do in year one, two and three to hit 10million [units]?'"
While details about the exact launch dates are yet to be revealed, both Sony and Microsoft have announced launch windows of ‘Holiday 2020.’

Xbox has already unveiled the Xbox Series X, its ‘most powerful console ever, powered by our custom-designed processor leveraging AMD's latest Zen 2 and RDNA 2 architectures.’
And while Sony has given details about the PlayStation 5 controller, details about the console itself remain scarce.
In a blog last year, Jim Ryan, President of SIE, said: “Our next-generation console will be called PlayStation 5, and we’ll be launching in time for Holiday 2020.”
