Xbox Series X live stream: How to watch today as next-gen games are revealed

Microsoft is set to debut the first game footage from its next-generation console, the Xbox Series X, at 4pm BST today (7 May).

The footage will be streamed as part of a special Inside Xbox event, and will feature gameplay footage from some of Xbox’s ”global developer partners”.

It is widely expected that the next Assassin’s Creed game, Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, will be among the games on display. Microsoft revealed the title and setting of Valhalla in a livestreamed photoshop event last week.

Glossy sci-fi RPG Cyberpunk 2077 is also a possible candidate for the event.

Electronic Arts’s sports games – such as FIFA 21 and Madden 21 – are also on the horizon, along with a new instalment in the Battlefield franchise, and a new Call of Duty from Activision, although it has not been confirmed whether any of these will appear during the stream.

The event can be watched on Mixer, Twitch, Facebook, Twitter, or YouTube, the latter of which offers an ultra-high-definition 4K stream.

Given that there has been no gameplay footage released so far for Sony’s PS5, it won’t just be Xbox players who will be tuning in; some of the games exhibited will also be released on the rival next-gen console.

Reports suggest the Xbox Series X is still on course to be released around the end of 2020.

In the US, the stream will go live at 8am PT and 11am ET.
