Xbox Series X launch live stream countdown to celebrate the launch of the next generation of Xbox consoles

The brand new next-generation of Xbox consoles are here and to celebrate Xbox On hosted a live stream on Twitch.

At 6 pm GMT yesterday Xbox hosted a 6-hour gameplay live stream called Dreams Within on their twitch channel to celebrate the release of their new next-generation games consoles The Xbox Series X and Series S.

Viewers were invited to complete live interactive challenges and win one of seven Xbox Series X's. They also got to see exclusive footage of the highly anticipated games including Watch Dogs: Legion, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Assassins Creed Valhalla, Sea of Thieves and more, all played on the next generation behemoth that is the Xbox Series X.

Of course, yesterdays stream was lead-up today's launch, where some gamers will finally get their hands on the brand spanking new Xbox Series X/S themselves, with its cutting edge features, quick resume, 4k and 1440 resolutions and up to 120 fps.

The live stream counted down to the launch of Xbox consoles at midnight, culminating in a spectacular holographic display set against London’s iconic skyline.

The Dreams Within installation, standing 12 ft high, used four 4K projectors to create a holographic chamber, with multiple cameras gave the effect of shimmering transparency while a stunning light show played within and around it accompanied by a dramatic binaural soundtrack all against the London skyline.

“Gaming has the power to inspire, to connect and entertain us, and this next generation of gaming is coming at a time when play is more important than ever,” said Phil Spencer, executive vice-president of Gaming at Microsoft.

From November 10, users will be able to play 30 fully optimised games at launch for the new X and S, as well as thousands of titles across Xbox's 4 generations, thanks to its extensive backwards compatibility.

EA Play will also be joining Xbox Game Pass at the same time, offering over 60 additional games to the already impressive library of titles.

The stream will take place Monday, November 9 at 6 pm.
