It’s one of the most highly-anticipated gaming consoles, and now what appear to be images of the Xbox Series X have leaked online.
The images have been widely shared on Twitter , and give a hint at what the back of Microsoft’s console could look like.
They suggest that the back of the console will feature vents, two USB-A ports, one HDMI-out, an optical audio port, Ethernet and a power-in.
Meanwhile, fans have been left baffled by one mysterious rectangular port - the use of which remains unclear.
While Xbox has previously shown off renders of the front of the console, this is the first time that we’ve been given a glimpse of real-life photos of the hardware.
However, many fans are unimpressed with the design, with several taking to Twitter to discuss the console’s shape.
One user tweeted: “My friends said the Xbox Series X looks like a mini fridge and now I can’t unsee it.”
Another added: “Is the Xbox Series X a fridge or a speaker, because…..”
And one joked: “What if Microsoft intentionally designed the Xbox Series X to look like a plain black mini-fridge just to try become a meme. That way people would be memeing it and thus free marketing on dozens of big meme pages.”
The Xbox Series X will finally go on sale in Holiday 2020, although it will face stiff competition from the PlayStation 5, which also launch later this year.
In a blog last month, Phil Spencer, Head of Xbox, said: "Thanks to backward compatibility, you can expect your gaming legacy, thousands of your favorite games across four generations of gaming, all your Xbox One gaming accessories, and industry-leading services like Xbox Game Pass to be available when you power on your Xbox Series X in Holiday 2020."
