Xbox Series X customers furious as orders are delayed on launch day

After months of anticipation, the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles finally went on sale in the UK today.

Many eager fans pre-ordered their consoles, in the hopes of them arriving on launch day.

However, many frustrated customers have been told that their consoles have been delayed.

The issue appears to affecting customers who purchased their console through Amazon, with many taking to social media to complain.

One user said: “Great day for everyone getting their Xbox today. Unfortunately Amazon delayed my order in an email at 8am this morning. Hope everyone else has fun.”

Another wrote: “Urgh so I've been waiting, to now receive an email from amazon that they've delayed my xbox…”

And one vented: “My Xbox Series X got delayed by Amazon at 8am on release date. No idea when it's arriving now. Cheers guys.”

Worryingly, in an email to customers, Amazon revealed that some customers may not receive their Xbox Series X until December 31.

The Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S will finally go on sale on Tuesday November 10 (Xbox)

The email reads: “We’re contacting you with an update regarding your order of Xbox Series X.

“We expect to ship your console in the coming weeks as we receive more inventory in November and December. At this time, we anticipate that you will receive your Xbox Series X by 12/31 or before.

“We are making every effort possible to get it to you as soon as possible and apologise for any inconvenience.”
