Xbox Series S release date and price confirmed by Microsoft

Xbox has announced details of its budget-price entry into the next-generation as the popular gaming brand reveals its ‘smallest console ever’.

Microsoft, the company that produces Xbox consoles, released details of the Xbox Series S over social media on Tuesday morning.

The tech giant promises the device will have “faster load times, higher frame rates and richer, more dynamic worlds” compared to previous editions.

Gamers will have to download games onto the device as it does not contain a disc drive for physical copies.

The Xbox Series S will be released in November (Xbox)

The Series S will be available to buy for £249.99 when it is released on November 10. Pre- orders are already open at Game and Currys.

It is expected to release alongside than the larger and presumably more powerful Xbox Series X.

The larger and presumably more powerful Xbox Series X is expected to release at around the same time as the Series S (Xbox)

Microsoft has described the Series X as the firm’s “fastest, most powerful” console ever made.

Halo Infinite and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla are among the games confirmed for release on both devices.

Rival company Sony is expected to create two different versions of its next-generation Playstation 5 by the end of 2020.

No date or prices details have been announced so far.
