Xbox has given its Achievements system a revamp with three new upgrades coming to the feature on console, which are now available to select Xbox Insiders.
Starting April 8, 2026, the changes include cosmetic refreshes and profile customization tools, with Microsoft saying a broader rollout to all players is on the way.

One of the most noticeable changes has been made to the Achievement notifications. Xbox has updated the pop-up animations and icons that appear when you unlock something, giving them a cleaner, more modern look. Rare achievements get their own updated visuals that better reflect how special they actually are.
On top of that, notifications will now adapt to match your custom profile color, which might be just a small touch, but will make unlocking achievements feel a lot more personal.
You can now hide games and 100% completions finally get the spotlight
This is the big one, as Xbox is finally letting players hide specific games from their Achievement history on their profile.
Maybe you started a game you never finished, maybe you picked up something on sale and regretted it immediately. Whatever the reason, your profile will now reflect what you actually want people to see rather than every game you’ve ever touched.

One key detail worth noting is that hiding a game won’t erase anything in the background. Your Gamerscore will still count those games, and Xbox will continue tracking your activity in them. The change is purely about how your profile looks to others and to yourself.
This one is for the completionists out there–when you’ve unlocked every single Achievement a game has to offer, it will now show up as highlighted in your list.
Xbox has also added new filter options to the Achievement list view, making it easier to jump straight to your completed titles or find any games you’ve hidden.
What’s next for Xbox Achievements
Microsoft has been clear that these three features are just the beginning. Senior Product Manager Alex Charters said: “We’re continuing to explore new ways to recognize completion and milestone moments over time, and this update is one of our first steps towards celebrating those moments.”
For now, the features are rolling out gradually through the Xbox Insider Program, which means not everyone will have access straight away. If you want early access, you can sign up through the Xbox Insider Hub app on console or PC.
Xbox has yet to confirm a specific date for when the full player base will get these changes.
