The Xbox Games Showcase is coming up fast, with two hours of trailers, reveals, and more, followed by an in-depth Starfield presentation. We don’t know for sure what all Xbox has in store, though marketing executive Aaron Greenberg did say no Xbox first-party games for Series X|S will feature trailers that are entirely computer-generated material. It’ll be a mix of gameplay footage, in-engine footage, and possibly some CGI. Third-party possibilities are anyone’s guess, as Xbox has featured anything from Persona to Bandai Namco’s Tales of series at past showcases.
Whatever the case, it’s a lengthy presentation, clocking in at two hours – and that’s even before taking the Starfield Direct into account.

The presentation is two hours long, though as ever, Xbox will host a video-on-demand of the broadcast on its YouTube channel after the livestream ends.
There’s no word yet on how long the Starfield Direct will be, so if you’re keen on watching both presentations, make sure to set aside at least an extra 30 minutes or an hour or so for that.

What to expect from Xbox Games Showcase 2023 and Starfield Direct
Xbox has plenty of first-party titles in the works, including Hellblade 2, Fable 4, Avowed, The Outer Worlds 2, and Forza Motorsport and probably more that the publisher just hasn’t announced yet. Double Fine launched Psychonauts 2 in 2021, so we may hear something about what that team has in the works, and there’s probably something from 343 Industries about the next season of Halo Infinite.
The Activision Blizzard deal is almost certainly not getting a mention, embroiled as it is in controversy in the U.K. and the U.S.
There’s no telling what Bethesda might show off from Starfield, partly because what we’ve seen so far tells us very little other than the obvious Bethesda staples – factions, choices, step-out moments, and so on. It’s reportedly Bethesda’s biggest game yet, so hopefully, we’ll see a little more about what makes it special.
Atlus is also re-revealing two Persona games – a Persona 3 remake and a Persona 5 tactics spinoff. That’s supposed to be a secret, but Atlus accidentally uploaded trailers to their Instagram page after Summer Game Fest 2023 ended. Whoops.
