Xbox Game Pass set for a packed 2023 with more than 40 titles already confirmed

Game Pass looks set to have a cracking year ahead of it with 44 games already confirmed to be heading to the service in 2023.

Xbox Game Pass may have ended the year High on Life, but 2023 looks set to be a busy one for Xbox owners with a slew of exclusives and third-party titles confirmed to be launching on Microsoft’s service by the end of the year. And it hasn’t even begun yet!

Standout games include Bethesda’s highly anticipated space opera RPG Starfield, Arcane Studios' vampire hunting co-op FPS Redfall, and Silksong – the follow-up to Indie darling Hollow Knight.

January is already looking packed with a current-gen gen version of former Nintendo Switch exclusive, Monster Hunter Rise heading to the service on January 20, high-def ports of the superb Persona 3 Portable, and Persona 4 Golden on January 19, and Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition rounding out the month’s offerings on January 31.

Is 2023 the year of Xbox?

For people who tend to be one-and-done when playing games, Xbox Game Pass offers a great way to play some of the best Xbox games for a reasonable price. Although 2022 had some great titles grace the service including Pentiment, Immortality, and break-out indies like Tunic and Vampire Survivors, there was a distinct lack of heavy hitters.

Aside from sparse updates for Halo Infinite, most of Xbox’s stable of first-party games seemed lacking to many. Though for people like me, who like their games a little more experimental, it was superb! The same can’t be said for next year though as Xbox Game Pass Ultimate's price tag of £10.99 / $14.99 / AU$15.95 a month seems like a paltry sum for the deluge of new first and third-party games headed to the service. And that's only what's been confirmed so far.

It's highly likely we'll also see a port of Ghostwire: Tokyo in March, as well as more first-party offerings from Microsoft that haven’t been announced yet. Right now, it looks like Xbox gamers aren't going to go wanting next year. I’m just saying, it's been a long time since Gears 5 came out.

Here's the full list of games coming to Xbox Game Pass in 2023 so far. We've included dates where confirmed so you can plan accordingly. With brand new, triple-A titles being available day one on Game Pass, Xbox has a stellar year ahead.
