Xavier Tillman gets first career double-double in Memphis Grizzlies win over Spurs

Well, that didn’t take too long. In just his fifteenth game for the Memphis Grizzlies, Xavier Tillman has recorded his first career double-double. Tillman scored 10 points and added 10 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 steals, and an assist in the Grizzlies’ 133-102 win over the San Antonio Spurs.

Tillman has already emerged as a starter for the Grizzlies due to multiple injuries, and he has excelled. At this point, Tillman could have an outside shot at the Rookie of the Year award, he’s been that good.

Tillman is averaging 8.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.3 steals, and .8 blocks per game in 20.8 minutes per game. He has played in over 20 minutes per game in each of the last three games, something he didn’t do in his first 12 games of the season. Those numbers will just continue to go up as he gets more playing time.
