Xavi Simons to Rangers transfer boost as PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino snubs wonderkid demands

Top prospect Xavi Simons has been bombed out of the Paris Saint-Germain starting line-up by boss Mauricio Pochettino.

The 18-year-old Dutchman's future remains up in the air with Rangers among the clubs credited with an interest in the wonderkid.

With Simons in the final six months of his contract, he has reportedly demanded more game time at the Ligue 1 giants before agreeing a new deal.

His agent Mino Raiola has alternatively called for a loan exit to be promised if he commits to the club.

Simons was handed a rare start in the French Cup rout and impressed as he lined up alongside Kylian Mbappe.

But with the Ibrox chiefs and Barcelona tracking the teenager, Pochettino has dropped Simons back to the bench for the clash with Lyon.

Simons has yet to make a league appearance for the club so far this season.

Gio van Bronckhorst has been credited with an interest in his countryman and reports in Spain suggest talks already taken place between Raiola and the Ibrox hierarchy.
