Xavi Simons puts Rangers on transfer alert as PSG prospect issues loan ultimatum

Xavi Simons has demanded guarantees from Paris Saint-Germain to sign a new contract amid links with Rangers.

The 18-year-old Dutchman's future remains up in the air as he enters the final six months of his contract with the Ligue 1 giants.

Mauricio Pochettino brought the wonderkid back into his first-team plans as Simons impressed in the French Cup win over Vannes.

But L'Equipe have claimed that Simons remains unhappy with his chances at the French giants with Rangers and Barcelona named among the interested parties.

His agent Mino Raiola has reportedly told the club that the midfielder will only pen a new deal if his client is assured of a loan exit for the remainder of the campaign.

Alternatively, he wants more game time alongside the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe at the Parc des Princes.

It is claimed that Raiola has told PSG that Simons will wait out his contract and leave for free in the summer if his conditions are not met.

Gio van Bronckhorst has been credited with an interest in his countryman and reports in Spain suggest talks already taken place between the super-agent and the Ibrox hierarchy.
