X Factors fans floored by ‘the cheek’ of Dermot O'Leary in resurfaced Beyoncé clip

The X Factor fans have unearthed a vintage clip of the hit talent show, in which Dermot O’Leary appears on stage after Beyoncé performed alongside 2008 finalist Alexandra Burke.

The X Factor hopeful sobbed through her duet of Listen with the musical powerhouse, in front of the judging panel of Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole, Dannii Minogue and Louis Walsh.

Alexandra went on to win The X Factor off the back of that superstar performance, beating boy band JLS to the £1 million record deal and going onto chart three number one singles and score a number one album in the UK.

But after the emotional show-stopping performance, a resurfaced clip of the moment Dermot O’Leary returned to the stage has hilariously pointed out that the This Morning host called the American icon ‘hun’, at which Beyoncé looked slightly taken aback.

Returning to the stage, Dermot said: “What a moment! Beyoncé, thank you so much for coming. It's lovely to have you here. What did you think of our girl?”

The Halo hitmaker replied: “She's a superstar. Such a beautiful voice and such a beautiful young lady. I'm very, very happy to sing with you,” to which Alexandra replied: “You've made my dreams come true. We were fighting for this.”

Dermot then weighed in saying: “Beyoncé, just very briefly, hun, I know you're here on a bit of a whistle-stop tour, but you're back next year?”

After a brief look of surprise, Beyoncé replied: “Yes, I'm coming back to go on tour and I'm hoping to see this young lady there.”

A fan pointed out the overly personal moment on Twitter, leading fellow X Factor viewers to weigh in saying they were “absolutely howling” as others pointed out Dermot’s “cheek”.

This comes after Simon Cowell admitted the salaries of the judges on The X Factor, which was cancelled in 2018, were outrageous and “out of whack”.

Speaking to The Sun, he confessed that Cheryl, Robbie, Ayda, Dannii and himself received large pay packets.

He said: "The salaries got out of whack. I’d be a hypocrite if I said I hadn’t made a lot of money.

"But it got too crazy. And, going back to The X Factor, I’m not even sure artists should be judging other artists. I think it’s in their DNA to want to find a star.”

Although The X Factor was cancelled, Simon still searches for talent on America's Got Talent and Britain's Got Talent, which is returning this weekend, and he was also a judge on American Idol and the US version of The X Factor.
