X Factor: The Band viewers stunned over host Dermot O'Leary's awkward blunder

The X Factor: The Band viewers were a little stunned during the live final of the show, as host Dermot O'Leary made a blunder.

The TV presenter was introducing the girl band and boy band who would be competing to win the show.

Dermot was likening the groups to other bands, suggesting who the winning band could be the next version of.

One band mentioned was The X Factor stars One Direction, but it was what he said next that caused a bit of a stir.

Dermot went to compare the girls to being the next Pussycat Dolls, except viewers were convinced he'd said "Pussycat Dogs".

In fact he'd messed up on the auto cue and said the word "job" too early, repeating "Pussycat Jobs".

He quickly realised his mistake and repeated the correct band name, but fans had already begun tweeting about the moment.

Convinced Dermot had said "dogs" some viewers were stunned, while others were in hysterics.

One fan tweeted: "Did Dermot just day pussycat dogs?"

Another said: "Pussy Cat Dogs?"

A third added: " #XFactorTheBand The Pussycat dogs!! Spot on @radioleary ."

Making up the boy band are Jed Thomas, Reece Wiltshire-Fessey, Boaz Dopemu, Caius Duncombe, Harrison Cole and Fred Roberts.

In the girl group, is Kellimarie Willis, Jess Folley, Luena Martinez, Seorsia Leagh Jack, Virginia Hampson and Halle Williams.

The X Factor: The Band final airs tonight on ITV at 8pm.
