Anyone who complained to Ofcom about the Pussycat Dolls’ skimpy outfits will be pleased that contestants on The X Factor : The Band are likely to be dressed more conservatively.
Judge Nicole Scherzinger who will be assembling the new group, admits that fashion has changed since the Dolls first topped the charts and cites Billie Eillish’s androgynous baggy T-shirts as a more current pop style.
It comes after Nicole’s performance with the re-formed Dolls on The X Factor: Celebrity final, left, drew 419 complaints to Ofcom for their mesh and Latex look.
Ahead of The Band’s launch, Nicole, 41, spoke about current stars’ style, admitting: “The industry has changed so much and it’s more about individuality.
"Our modern pop star is Billie Eillish, who is more dark and edgy.

"What works these days is different to what worked in the past – today we have Post Malone and Lizzo, which is so great.”
The new X Factor show will form a new girl group and a boyband, who will battle it out for a recording contract.
- The X Factor: The Band starts Monday night, on ITV at 8.30pm
