X Factor: Celebrity ditches two famous elements in revamp for live final

The X Factor: Celebrity final missed out a major part of the usual series, with the winner's singles performances ditched.

But there was a second segment dropped from the show too - the duets.

Each year during the ITV series' live finale, those competing for the crown and the recording contract are joined on stage by a guest.

It used to be that a singer or group would appear and perform with a particular act to help them win.

In the past, Beyonce , George Michael, Take That and Christina Aguilera have all been included for the famous duets.

In recent years though, it's been judges including Nicole Scherzinger who have filled the role.

This year, the finalists Megan McKenna, V5, Jenny Ryan and Max and Harvey were given two songs to perform.

As well as singing a Christmas track, they also got to choose their song of the series.

But as the show came closer to an end with the vote almost over, it soon became clear that both segments were not going to take place.

There was no time for all three finalists, after V5's exit, to perform their winner's track.

Neither act got to perform with a guest singer or band either, unlike the good all days.

Fans had been speculating for weeks if duets were going to be aired, and who everyone might sing with.

Instead, only the winner got to sing their chosen track with that being Megan Mckenna.

The former TOWIE star was speechless as Dermot O'Leary confirmed she had won, before she took to the stage one last time.

X Factor returns in December for its new spin-off, The Band.
