Today, Wyze – makers of some of the best smart home security cameras – announced the release of its first 4K resolution camera, the Cam Pan v4, which also includes a new smart chip that features AI-powered object tracking. The Cam Pan v4 has Ultra HD resolution with color night vision and a detailed, broad field of view for day or night coverage. Its 360 degree pan and 180 degree tilt coverage can be controlled through the Wyze app.
The smart chip inside powers the AI object tracking that can track people, pets or vehicles, as well as faster processing power overall. The company's descriptive Alerts, NBD filter and new AI-powered object tracking now all work together to ensure that users' Wyze cameras monitor exactly what they needs to see. The addition of 4K provides accurate detail on faces, license plates and creatures and doesn't get confused by movement that isn't critical, such as the movements of ambient bushes or trees in the background.
Other features include four waypoints that can be automatically monitored or zoomed in for additional detail, a motion activated spotlight and a built-in siren, upgraded two-way audio courtesy of an improved microphone and speaker, enhanced IR night vision that shows clear details even in low light conditions, IP65 weather rating so the Cam Pan v4 can be used indoors or outdoors even in inclement weather.
The Cam Pan v4 also has Wyze's privacy mode feature which causes the camera lens to point down and turns it off, and it features local storage (microSDXC card) that can hold 512GB for continuous recording. It has smart home integration with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, IFTTT and Wyze Automations, and is available now for $60 at Wyze.com.
