Wythenshawe will be dancing in the moonlight as band Toploader announced to headline Christmas lights switch on

Toploader have announced they will join a star-studded line up at Wythenshawe's annual Christmas lights switch on.

The British rock band, best known for their cover of 'Dancing In The Moonlight', have been confirmed as headliners for this years' festivities.

Formed in 1997, the group have sold more than two millions albums and are expected to play all their top hits to get the crowd going.

They will also be joined by stars such as Dene Michael from Black Lace, known for their big hit "Agadoo."

Singer and social media sensation, Chloe Rose will perform along with 2014 X-Factor finalist, Jack Walton.

Cbeebies presenter, Katy Ashworth will complete the line-up on Saturday 23 November.

The celebrations will also feature performances from local community groups such as Shooting Star Theatre School, Wythenshawe Community Church and Fianna Phádraig Pipe Band.

Daniel Davis, Wythenshawe Town Centre Manager, commented: “We are delighted to be hosting our annual Christmas Light Switch On again this year.

"With our incredible line up of famous stars, as well as fantastic performances from community acts, the switch on is the perfect way to kick off the town centres festivities."

The switch on is FREE and will take place from 3pm – 6pm in Wythenshawe Town Centre.
