Wythenshawe murder: Teenager arrested after man, 20, killed in suspected stabbing in Manchester

A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 20-year-old man died in south Manchester.

Police were called to a home in Crossacres Road, Wythenshawe at around 8.45am on Friday.

Officers found the young man collapsed and he was rushed to hospital in a critical condition.

The injured man died in hospital a short time later.

Police have yet to release further details on the circumstance's of the victim's death.

Local media reported he had been stabbed.

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody for questioning, Greater Manchester Police said in a statement.

Detective Chief Inspector Carl Jones of GMP’s Major Incident Team said: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family at this unimaginably difficult time and we are committed to giving them the answers they deserve.

“We have arrested one person in connection with this murder and are appealing for the public to come forward with any information they might have.

“Were you in the vicinity of Crossacres Road at around 8.30am on Friday 5 April? Did you see anything suspicious or have any information that can assist us? If so, get in touch with us immediately.”
