Wyoming (1-0) vs. Texas State (0-1) Game Preview
Why Wyoming Will Win
The running game ripped it up against Missouri in the shocker, coming up with 297 yards and three scores, averaging over seven yards per carry with home run after home run.
The offensive line opened up the holes, QB Sean Chambers and RB Xazavian Valladay went off, and the team survived a furious comeback to hang on.
Texas State got hit for 246 yards and close to seven yards per carry in the loss to Texas A&M, and it’s not going to be able to get enough from its linebackers – even though their one of the team’s biggest strengths – to make the plays needed at the second level against the Cowboy runners.
Why Texas State Will Win
Those linebackers – the Bobcats have them. If they can get anything out of the defensive front to hold up in the interior, they should be okay as long as they can make the open field tackles.
Forgotten about in the win over Mizzou was how the Wyoming passing game failed to do much of anything. Chambers had his opportunities, and couldn’t hit them.
Now that the Bobcats have the tape on the Wyoming running game, if they can be disciplined and stay in their gaps, there’s a shot they shut the thing down.

What’s Going To Happen
They won’t shut the thing down, but they’ll have more success than Missouri did. Don’t expect an ugly blowout – the Bobcats will come up with a surprisingly tough performance at home. They won’t have the explosive plays needed to pull this off, but they’ll hang around.
