Don’t let the Aztecs offense break out
If you think Wyoming has had a bad offense this season, you probably haven’t seen what San Diego State has done through their 5 games. The Aztecs passing offense has them ranked 110th nationally, only 18 spots ahead of the Pokes. The running game hasn’t been much better. They are 94th nationally in rushing yards per game, 80 spots behind Wyoming. The Aztecs 2.98 yards per rush is the 8th worst in the nation. If the Cowboys hold SDSU to their averages or even see them perform slightly above their averages, Wyoming will have a great chance to win.
Make big plays on offense
San Diego State is only allowing 45.4 rushing yards per game. Each of Wyoming’s 3 primary runners, Chambers, Valladay, and Swen, are averaging more than that total. Don’t expect the Cowboys to finish with 45 rushing yards in this contest but don’t expect to see them rushing for 250 on 6 yards per carry either. The Pokes ability to break a huge run here and there and make some chunk plays in the passing game will probably be the determining factor in this game.
