Wyatt Teller will ‘probably’ remain as the Browns starting RG

Wyatt Teller made his Cleveland Browns starting debut in the Week 9 loss in Denver. Based on what Browns head coach Freddie Kitchens said after Wednesday’s practice session in Berea, the changing of the (right) guard might be permanent.

Teller got the nod over Eric Kush, who had started the first seven games. Kush had struggled in pass protection and sustaining blocks. Teller helped QB Baker Mayfield find more time in the pocket; Mayfield was sacked just twice and consistently had more time to throw than he has most of the season.

When asked if the change would remain going forward and Teller would get another start to prove himself, Kitchens responded with one word,

“Probably.”

That’s about as committal of a midweek answer as we’ll ever get from Kitchens, so look for Teller to get the nod when the Buffalo Bills visit FirstEnergy Stadium on Sunday.
