WWE suspends recording after wrestler tests positive for coronavirus

WWE have confirmed that it is suspending recordings after one of its wrestlers who featured in an event last month tested positive for coronavirus.

All of the company’s wrestlers and employees who were in attendance at recent tapings in Orlando, Florida will now undergo testing “out of an abundance of caution and to ensure the health and safety of the company’s performers and staff.”

A statement released by Dr Jeffrey Dugas, the WWE’s associate medical director, read: “A developmental talent, who was last on site at WWE’s training facility on Tuesday, 9 June, has tested positive for Covid-19.

“Since that time, no other individuals that attended the facility have reported symptoms.”

Previously, employees had only been conducting temperature checks and answering questionnaires prior to entering the WWE’s Performance Centre.

A non-wrestling member of staff tested positive for coronavirus in April but had not been in contact with any other employees and has since made a “complete recovery”.
