WWE Superstar Sami Zayn says visit to Happy Pear cafe was highlight of recent Dublin trip

WWE Superstar Sami Zayn has said that his visit to iconic Greystones cafe the Happy Pear was the highlight of his recent trip to Dublin.

The Canadian wrestler returns to Ireland again on November 10th for WWE Live at the 3 Arena, but travelled to Ireland in March for a holiday while recovering from a severe injury that sidelined him for almost a year.

And speaking to Dublin Live ahead of the big 3 Arena event, Zayn said: "Right before I came back after about ten months out because of surgery on both shoulders, I decided to take one last trip before my schedule got really busy.

"My wife is half-Irish so it was great for her and it wasn't my first time in Ireland by any means but it was the first time in a long time I got to go for a meaningful period of time.

"I had a few days to look around, do some things and explore Dublin but I wish I had got the chance to stay a little longer because it has so much to offer, we come here frequently with WWE but it's just for the day.

"It was a very nice trip and it made me remember and really realise how much I love Ireland and it made me so eager to come back and it's one of the key dates I have circled on our European tour."

The Happy Pear is famous for its social media presence, with well over half a million combined social media followers.

And Zayn said that it was the high point of an incredible trip that saw him take in the sights of Dublin and visit his good pal and fellow WWE superstar Finn Balor's hometown of Bray.

"I'd say the highlight was the cliff walk from Bray to Greystones," he explained. "It was a beautiful hike, but it takes it out of you.

"So when we got to the end there was a great little vegetarian place called the Happy Pear that's just waiting for you.

"That cliff walk and the scenic views and then having a meal at the Happy Pear, that was kind of the high point of my trip, it was really nice."

Sami Zayn couldn't guarantee that Irish fans would get to see him in the ring at WWE Dublin, but he claimed that he would be making a big impact in the corner of Intercontinental champion Shinsuke Nakamura at the 3 Arena in two week's time.

WWE returns to Ireland next month, making a stop at the 3 Arena in Dublin on November 10th. Tickets are still available on Ticketmaster.ie.
