WWE superstar on the reason Liverpool's Mohamed Salah inspires him

Wrestling star Mustafa Ali has revealed how Liverpool's Mohamed Salah inspires him.

The WWE cruiserweight champion told of his admiration for his fellow Muslim, who he feels is breaking down barriers.

In an interview with Sky Sports, the wrestler admitted his eagerness to have a similarly positive impact in sport as Salah.

Season's biggest plus was watching Liverpool evolve into a team that never know when they're beaten

Ali said: "What's awesome about Mo is his representation is so far-reaching.

"I saw a clip recently where he took his daughter onto the field and the entire stadium erupted.

"You know the reception for her is tied into their love for him and that's what I want to do here.

"I've got a daughter and I've brought her to WWE events and the moment people realised that's my daughter, they gave her a standing ovation."

"It's so cool to break down those barriers. Mo Salah is from the same faith as me, he looks like me in certain aspects and what he is doing is inspiring me.

"Not as a football fan, as a human being I'm thinking 'this guy's awesome' for what he represents."

Raheem Sterling believes rivalry with Liverpool is the most intense in Premier League

Salah will have a chance to win the Champions League with Liverpool on June 1.

The 26-year-old, who was named on TIME Magazine's list of 100 most influential people, was injured in last season's final following a clash with Sergio Ramos.

Salah and his team-mates will be eager to overcome Tottenham in Madrid and return to Merseyside with an historic sixth European title.
