WWE superstar 'attempts to quit' over WrestleMania championship decision

WWE superstar Sasha Banks reportedly attempted to quit the company over WrestleMania weekend.

Banks entered WrestleMania 35 as part of the women’s tag team champions, with Bayley.

But according to the Wrestling Observer, The Boss was left furious by a late booking decision in the fatal four-way match for the titles.

It’s claimed Banks “felt blindsided” as a decision was made for the titles to change hands, with the Iiconics emerging victorious at ‘The Show of Shows’.

Banks was said to be furious and thus missed this week’s Raw and a scheduled appearance on The Wendy Williams Show appearance for "personal reasons”.

Now Banks has been given time off to ‘figure things out’, with officials hoping the situation will calm down.

However, there are also questions over Banks’ future amid a legitimate feud with fellow star Alexa Bliss - who this year was WrestleMania's host.

It’s long been mooted that the pair are far from friends outside of the ring, but a recent exchange laid bare just how much disdain there is between the two.

Bliss challenged the Boss ’n’ Hug Connection on Raw - an event Banks didn’t attend - the night after WrestleMania, and ended up defeating Bayley via pinfall.

Not long after, Banks tweeted a picture of how she views Bliss’ account, showing that she was blocked, declaring “You scared ?”

What it also showed simultaneously was that Banks had already had her muted.

Bliss would later respond to Banks declaring: "No not scared... sick of your petty #Blocked"

WWE would be loathe to allow Banks to leave, particularly with her popularity with younger fans.

Additionally, there is also the changing landscape of wrestling, amid the rise of AEW and with companies' like Ring of Honour thriving.

However, there is no doubt that, as Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey have taken the women's division to new heights, Banks has been somewhat allowed to fade into the background.
