WWE stars Karrion Kross and Solo Sikoa on Drew McIntyre's Glasgow live show homecoming

WWE returns to Glasgow next week for the only UK date in their latest European tour.

It's the company's first return to British shores since the huge Clash at the Castle stadium event which saw almost 65,000 people watch Scottish wrestler Drew McIntyre take on Roman Reigns in the main event for the title.

It's a bittersweet occasion because, despite a surprise intervention by boxer Tyson Fury, the former champion McIntyre didn't emerge victorious from the event, despite having spent years lobbying for it to happen.

Glasgow Live talked exclusively to two of the wrestlers who will be facing the crowds at McIntyre's homecoming after playing pivotal parts in the storyline thwarting the Ayr wrestler's return to the city with the title.

Karrion Kross, alongside his wife Scarlett Bordeaux, has been embroiled in a fierce feud with McIntyre since intervening in the high stakes bout at the pay-per-view and is set to face off against McIntyre live in front of his home crowd.

Despite their storyline seeing them at odds with each other, he paid tribute to McIntyre, who is Kross' first major opponent since he returned to WWE after almost a year's break , battling in a series of increasingly brutal matches over recent months.

He told us: "Working with Drew McIntyre has been an excellent experience. Yes he's a giant human being and punching him feels like trying to punch a truck.

"But because he's been around for so long he's very knowledgeable and I think he's a perfect person for me to be in the ring with. He's been in the ring with the best of the best and when you do that, what it means is nobody is working down. You have to meet them on their level so it forces you to improve.

"So he is the perfect challenge for me and I think it's going to allow me to demonstrate that I am cut from the same cloth, being the best of the best."

Meanwhile, Solo Sikoa is one of The Uso family, a wrestling dynasty whose best known members are Roman Reigns and The Rock. He made his debut for the family firm at the massive show and he's intrigued to see what the Glasgow crowd makes of him when he heads to Scotland.

Speaking of the moment he intervened in Cardiff he told us: "The reaction of the crowd at ringside was so loud my leg was shaking. Especially for me then, I was debuting, the fans were seeing me for the first time and they were booing me. It was like coming straight into the deep end and they were booing me so loud. I've never heard anything like that."

Is he expecting a similar reaction in Glasgow?

Sikoa laughs. "I understand people being there for Drew. But you know I'm there for my family. Let's see what happens."

Alongside McIntyre, Kross and Sikoa, appearing live at the OVO Hydro on October 30 will be Natalya, Sheamus and The Usos, among others. Tickets for the event are available here.

WWE is shown in the UK on BT Sport which is available with a no contract monthly pass here.
