WWE staff 'shocked' by decision on The Undertaker's involvement at Wrestlemania 35

WrestleMania 35 is fast approaching but it's increasingly looking unlikely that The Undertaker will feature at MetLife Stadium.

The WWE legend's involvement in New Jersey has been unclear for a number of months.

The Phenom hasn't appeared on WWE TV since November and has been making appearances outside the WWE for $25,000 per hour since.

He has also reportedly drawn the fury of WWE owner Vince McMahon after agreeing to appear at Starrcade II in Las Vegas - a convention associated with upcoming company All Elite Wrestling.

And despite fans still being keen for Undertaker to appear at the extravaganza, it's claimed WWE chiefs are not operating on the assumption he will not feature next month.

'Doors open' for Rob Gronkowski to join WWE after Stephanie McMahon message

“WWE is now operating as if The Undertaker will not be at WrestleMania which is a big surprise to people internally," commented Brad Shepherd on the Oh, You Didn’t Know podcast.

"They did expect he would probably at least appear, they would work it out.

"[It] Doesn’t look like that’s going to happen now at least as of right now they’re operating as if he won’t be there."

The Undertaker defeated John Cena at WrestleMania 34 (@WWE)

Last year 'Taker appeared in a squash match with John Cena, but doing so after Cena had created a rivalry for a number of weeks in the lead up to the event.

This time around however, things are very different.

The Deadman has removed all mentions of WWE from his social media profiles, while also agreeing to appear at Starrcade II.

As such, it appears extremely unlikely that the 53-year-old will be showing up in New Jersey.

But the situation is further clouded by the fact he has been confirmed to appear at the company's pay-per-view in Saudi Arabia on May 3.

He appeared in both PPV specials in Australia and Saudi Arabia last year.
