WWE's Money in the Bank London event to include Friday Night Smackdown

WWE have announced the London's O2 Arena will play host to Friday Night Smackdown the day before the venue hosts Money In The Bank.

The firm made the surprise announcement this afternoon, stating the move was 'due to the incredible early response for Money in the Bank ticket pre-registrations'.

A pre-sale for combo ticket covering both events is to be held on Wednesday, February 22.

The news comes off the back of the record-breaking UK event, Clash at the Castle, held in Cardiff in September and will be the first PPV event in the UK in more than two decades.

Anticipation was already high among British WWE fans for the Money In The Bank premium live event on Saturday, July 1 - which is the first time the event, known as one of the firm's Big Five, will be held outside of the US.

Smackdown will now take place on Friday, June 30 and it will be the first time ever that the flagship WWE show will broadcast live and in primetime from the UK.

British fans unable to get to the venue will also be able to watch it live from 8pm on BT Sport.

WWE and O2 presales for combo tickets will be available on Wednesday, February 22 from 12noon via Ticketmaster.

Fans can register now to receive for the exclusive presale at WWE.com.

General sale for the combo tickets will be from 12noon on Friday, February 24 also from Ticketmaster.
