WWE's Bobby Lashley vows to 'retire' iconic Goldberg and teases Hurt Business reunion

WWE star Bobby Lashley has promised to 'retire' Goldberg and avenge his defeat at Crown Jewel.

The ex WWE Champion engaged in a brutal no holds barred match with the wrestling legend in Saudi Arabia last month.

He suffered a brutal spear off the stage through not one, not two, but THREE tables before the Hall of Famer pinned him for the win.

While that physical encounter looked to be the end of their rivalry, Lashley still has the ex WCW champion on his mind and wants to end his storied career once and for all.

In an exclusive chat with Mirror Sport , the 46-year-old said: “I think he has one more match left on his contract for this year, hopefully I can avenge that slip-up that I had and send him into retirement in a positive way.”

Despite the tough loss, the former Bellator MMA competitor enjoyed sharing the ring with Goldberg and was pleased to produce a compelling match.

“It was cool to be able to go out there and have a match with him and actually a really good match with Goldberg,” he added.

“He had those times where everyone was kind of doubting what he was able to do.

“Goldberg’s not a Shawn Michaels, he’s not an Eddie Guerrero that’s going to give you a thirty minute or an hour match, he’s going to hit hard and fast, so it was cool to have an opportunity to go against him.”

During the bout, Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander, once members of the popular Hurt Business stable, came out to help their former ally, but to no avail as Goldberg laid waste to the pair in devastating fashion.

With the duo also assisting Lashley on an episode of Raw several weeks ago, are we on the verge of seeing a full reunion in the near future?

While he didn't give much away, Lashley hinted he and his former buddies are due to wreak more havoc on Monday Night Raw soon, but was full of praise for each member of the group, including MVP who is currently recovering from knee surgery.

He shared: “We’re gonna see. The synergy we had with that group was great, because those guys are my brothers and we wanted to elevate them.”

The combat athlete would go on to describe what each member of the group hoped to achieve when they joined forces, and as far as ‘The All Mighty’ was concerned, the ultimate goal was to become the WWE champion, which he would achieve earlier this year.

“MVP’s at the stage of his career where he wants to be the one that wants to organise things and be the manager, the grappler added.

"Shelton Benjamin hadn’t got his justice yet, so talented, he needed somebody to elevate him, and I needed to get a world title sometime in my career.

“We were all able to accomplish big things so I think the possibilities it may happen again are likely.”

Lashley lost WWE the title to Big E last month, ending a truly dominant reign which included a successful title defence against Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania.

As far as when he hopes to get the coveted hardware back, the grappler says it’s “just a matter of time.”

He said confidently: “As soon as I have an opportunity to win that title I’m going to get it. I think I’m just a whole other level than anybody else right now.”

Make sure to catch WWE Raw tonight to see if Lashley, who has not featured on TV since losing to Goldberg, reasserts himself in a big way.
