WWE 'reconsider' Kurt Angle's WrestleMania 35 opponent after angry reaction

There was plenty of disappointment amongst the WWE universe when Kurt Angle's Wrestlemania 35 opponent was announced as Baron Corbin last week.

The legendary former Olympic gold medalist is in the middle of his farewell tour after announcing he'll retire after his Wrestlemania match on April 7.

But there was noticeable disappointment amongst the Chicago crowd when he appeared on Monday Night Raw days after his clash with Baron Corbin was announced.

Angle went on to get the crowd going with a win over Chad Gable after an Ankle Lock - yet there are still rumours WWE may backtrack on their original decision.

According to WrestleVotes , the WWE did not anticipate such a negative reaction to their choice of opponent.

They are therefore said to be "reconsidering" the match as they don't want his final contest to be marred by such a negative feeling.

Rumours of a change were also fuelled by commentator Michael Cole specifically mentioning that WWE fans had voiced displeasure over the choice of opponents.

Sections of the crowd called for John Cena to fight Angle at Wrestlemania - 17 years after his WWE debut against the veteran.
