WWE legend Jeff Hardy arrested for alcohol offences for second time this year

Jeff Hardy has been arrested for driving while under the influence.

The WWE legend was charged with DWI by the Moore County Police Department in North Carolina on Friday night, before being released at 11:30pm.

Hardy has not wrestled in the WWE since his post-WrestleMania tag team title run due to a leg injury.

A WWE statement on the incident said: "Jeff Hardy is responsible for his own personal actions."

The 42-year-old has been in trouble with the law as recently as July, where he was again stopped for alcohol-related charges.

Hardy was charged with public intoxication at a family resort in South Carolina.

Hardy returned to WWE after a lay-off at WrestleMania 33 in 2017, where he stunned the crowd by appearing in a tag team match with brother Matt.

It led to a run as Raw Tag Team Champions before they split off and continued their singles careers.

Hardy is currently sidelined with a serious knee injury.

He injured himself at a live event in April with The Hardy Boyz forced to relinquished their recently-acquired championships.

Hardy believes he will be back in WWE action in 2020.

Speaking earlier this year, he detailed his knee problems.

"I'm going to have my whole right knee repaired, everything in there that's bad, and so for six or nine months it's going to be rough," Hardy said.

"Hopefully the first four months go extremely well."
