WWE legend Hacksaw Jim Duggan has undergone emergency surgery after being rushed to hospital.
It is currently unknown why the Hall of Famer had to go under the knife, but his wife asked for prayers on social media.
Debra took to Facebook and uploaded a photo of the 67-year-old lying on a hospital bed.
She wrote alongside the photo: “Back where we don’t want to be.
"Please pray for Jim and his doctors as he has emergency surgery this morning. Thank you, Debra.”
Fellow WWE Hall of Famer Jake ’The Snake’ Roberts took to his Twitter account this evening to confirm Duggan’s surgery was successful.
The 66-year-old penned: “Great news !!! Hacksaw Jim Duggan is out of surgery and recovering!!”
Subsequently, another photo was posted on Duggan's Facebook page, showing him smiling in his hospital bed.
Duggan has suffered from several health issues in the last few years.
In 2018, the wrestler was admitted into intensive care and underwent a heart procedure for AFIB (irregular heartbeat).
In 2019, Duggan had a pair of heart operations to repair what was described as a serious infection.
Duggan was one of the most charismatic grapplers during his time, best known for his American patriot gimmick.
He would make his entrance holding a 2x4 length of wood, which he would sometimes use as a weapon, and his battle cry of "Hooo!" would always get the crowd involved.
The star made history in 1988 when he won the first ever Royal Rumble match, a staple on the WWE calendar.
During a stint with the defunct WCW, Duggan captured the United States Heavyweight Championship and became the promotion’s final World Television Champion in 2000 before the belt was retired.
The American also enjoyed a stint in the New Japan Pro-Wrestling Federation in the 1980s, fighting the likes of Japanese stars Tatsumi Fujinami, Seiji Sakaguchi, Strong Kobayashi and Tiger Toguchi.
Duggan's last bout came in 2019, losing to Gursinder Singh at the DWW Sunday Night Power Slam event.
