WWE icon The Undertaker is no longer doing live Q&A in Glasgow

WWE icon The Undertaker has been replaced by former rival Mick Foley at a live Q&A event set to take place in Glasgow next month.

As reported on Glasgow Live , The Phenom – who has been a mainstay in the global wrestling promotion since 1990 – was set to appear in the city on May 1.

The event was part of a three night tour with Scottish wrestling events Inside The Ropes titled Rise of the Taker.

However, the company revealed via YouTube video on Saturday that the Undertaker would now be unable to participate in the Q&A portion of the show due to ‘circumstances outwith control’.

He will now only take part in a meet and greet with fans that purchased VIP packages.

Inside The Ropes owner Kenny McIntosh said in an email alert to ticket purchasers: “It is with a heavy heart that we need to write this email to notify you of some changes to the event. When we booked Undertaker back in October, we were able to book him for the Q&A. Unfortunately, it’s come to light that he is unable to participate in this portion of the show.

“We have tried everything we can to make these shows go ahead as the priority for us is that you still get to meet The Undertaker for your meet n greet.”

The event would have marked a rare open event for the former WWE champion, who has previously keep public appearances to a minimum in order to maintain his character.

The announcement that he was set to tour the UK – along with the removal of any WWE references on his social media – led many to believe that he was set to part ways with the company.

However this latest development, along with his on screen return on last week’s edition of WWE’s weekly episodic TV show Monday Night RAW, has all but confirmed that he is remaining with the WWE for the short term at least.

His replacement in the Q&A, Mick Foley, is a wrestling legend in his own right, having achieved multiple reigns as WWE champion under the Mankind gimmick and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013.

Anyone who has bought a ticket for the Glasgow show on May 1 at SWG3 should have received an email from Inside The Ropes on how changes will affect them.

Ticket holders can contact the company directly via email or Facebook .
