Bayley has been one of WWE’s most wholesome, family-friendly characters since her arrival in NXT six years ago, but the SmackDown women’s champion may be turning over a new leaf.
Bayley teamed up with Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch in a tag team match that main-evented Monday Night Raw, but the match ended prematurely when Sasha Banks crashed the ring and took out Lynch. Bayley jumped in the ring just as Banks was about to deliver another chair shot to Lynch and grabbed the weapon away from Banks – only to unleash a flurry of chair shots to Lynch herself.
The crowd inside Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore erupted, and fans on Twitter couldn’t have been happier about Bayley’s long-awaited turn. Banks is set to face Lynch for the Raw Women’s Championship at Clash of Champions later this month, and Bayley will defend her title against Charlotte Flair.
