One semi-truck traveling eastbound was able to swerve around Galloway’s Toyota Avalon, but another semi-truck hit him as they both tried to avoid the collision.

Kevin Galloway, 50, was westbound in the eastbound lanes of I-90 in Gary about 4:45 a.m., Indiana State Police said.

A northwest Indiana man was killed Thursday in a crash on I-90 in Gary, Indiana.

Kevin Galloway, 50, was westbound in the eastbound lanes of I-90 in Gary about 4:45 a.m., Indiana State Police said. One semi-truck traveling eastbound was able to swerve around Galloway’s Toyota Avalon, but another semi-truck hit him as they both tried to avoid the collision.

Galloway’s vehicle slid across the eastbound lanes and hit the center barrier wall before stopping, state police said. Galloway was pronounced dead at the scene.

The center and left eastbound lanes were closed for about five hours as authorities investigated the crash and removed the vehicles from the scene, state police said.

An autopsy and toxicology report are pending.
