Wrong side of the tracks: Kangaroo startles light rail passengers

What's that Skip? The Belco Party could scrap light rail stage 2 if it holds the balance of power, while the Greens want the business case to include a potential extension to Mawson?

Public transport safety bounced into the spotlight this week after Canberra Metro Operations released footage of a kangaroo that found its way onto a light rail stop near Canberra's city centre.

The rogue 'roo startled unsuspecting passengers at the Dickson Interchange on September 30, hopping down the length of the platform before finding the nearest patch of grass on Northbourne Avenue.

The light rail operator paired the video with a timely #RailSAFE reminder for passengers to stay on footpaths and crossings when walking to and from light rail stops.

No word on whether the miscreant marsupial was out of bounds.
