Writer Michael Rosen on politics, poems and the darkest days of his fight with Covid-19

ENCORE! © FRANCE 24

His cheeky, clever and irreverent stories have captivated generations of children and adults. Yet while Michael Rosen's wry sense of humour shines through in his latest book, "Many Different Kinds of Love" also deals with a truly terrifying chapter in his life. The former Children's Laureate contracted Covid-19 in March 2020 and as his health deteriorated, he was kept in an induced coma for weeks.

Rosen explains how the diligent accounts of the NHS workers who cared for him helped him piece together that dark time, and how he used those texts in his book.

We also talk about the healing power of poetry and the author gives us his take on the political management of the Covid-19 health crisis in the UK.
