Write for us about: the Beach Boys

It's an exciting week for Beach Boys fans, with the band announcing they're putting the finishing touches to their first original album in more than two decades.

The as yet untitled record, scheduled for 5 June, features a reunited lineup of Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine and Bruce Johnston. Speaking to Billboard, Johnston said: "[It] reminds me of our [1970] Sunflower album, which is probably one of our least-selling albums, [but] some of the songs there are stunning. It's not a quilt or a pot-luck dinner; it's not like, 'OK, everybody show up with your songs.' It's not one of those kind of albums … It's all brand new."

To celebrate the news, for this week's readers' panel we'd like to hear your thoughts on the Beach Boys. Your favourite song and what it means to you, your recollections of seeing them live, your apprehension or excitement about hearing new material – whatever your views on the band, we'd be interested to hear them.

If you'd like to participate, please email adam.boult@guardian.co.uk before 10am on Thursday 26 April, with up to 200 words on the Beach Boys. When you email, please include your Guardian username and your real name (and let us know if you object to having your real name used). We'll pick five entries for publication. The subject line of your email should be "Beach Boys".
