- Wrexham’s Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney were part of the commentary team on Sky Sports as their side faced Welsh rivals Swansea City.
- Speaking to Sky Sports presenter David Prutton ahead of the game, the pair commented on the noise inside the stadium before revealing that David Beckham FaceTimed them during Wrexham’s FA Cup clash with Chelsea last weekend.
- McElhenney said: “We do a lot FaceTiming during the games. In fact, during the Chelsea game, David Beckham was FaceTiming with us and was trying to talk to us but he can’t hear us and we can’t hear him.”
- Reynolds added: “It’s a lot of facial expressions and and mime work.”
- Wrexham, currently sixth in the Championship, are aiming for a remarkable promotion to the Premier League, having achieved three consecutive promotions since Reynolds and McElhenney's 2021 takeover.
