Kofi Kingston finally received his championship shot after more than a decade of waiting, and he delivered one of the greatest WrestleMania moments in the event’s history on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.
Kingston and Daniel Bryan fought in a back-and-forth match in front of more than 70,000 fans that were seemingly all in Kingston’s corner. When he hit his signature Trouble In Paradise finisher and pinned Bryan, the crowd erupted.
Kingston shared a special moment inside the ring with his New Day teammates and his young children.
Throughout the match, the camera feed occasionally cut to a large group of WWE stars watching backstage and cheering for Kingston. After the match, Kofi’s colleagues paid tribute to him on Twitter.
