Wren Kitchens opens 100th UK showroom as Greenwich brings up the zeros

Wren Kitchens has opened its 100th UK showroom.

The fast-growing retailer hit the self-set milestone for 2020 with almost a month to spare, despite the pandemic-ravaged calendar.

Greenwich is the latest outlet, with a former Mothercare unit on Brocklebank Retail Park transformed over recent months.

A total of 23 new jobs have been created by the North Lincolnshire headquartered giant, which has also opened its first US store in recent weeks.

Wren said that at 20,000 sq ft, the latest addition is the biggest kitchen showroom in London, featuring 73 unique displays.

A newly built mezzanine floor features a unique design centre with two virtual reality studios where customers can explore a full-sized model of their kitchen in 3D, allowing them to fully understand and walk around the layout of their project, as well as the ability to ‘use’ appliances, drawers and storage solutions.

Another Wren exclusive is the interactive appliance centre which lets customers get hands on with different appliance features and technology such as self-cleaning ovens, voice-controlled lighting and hobs with built in extraction.

And together with appliance partner Neff, Wren has marked the occasion with a donation of 100 £100 food parcels to The Greenwich Foodbank, providing emergency food and essential items to those in need via the Charlton Athletic Community Trust.

Greenwich showroom manager, Tony Blanche, said: “It’s a real privilege opening the doors to our 100th UK location here in Greenwich. It’s been a huge team effort from start to finish and we’d like to thank everyone involved for making it happen.

“Christmas is the time for giving, so we decided to give something back to the community and we hope that it makes a difference to those locked in poverty.”

Wren has gone from one to 100 outlets in just over a decade.

The Greenwich site also features 15 open plan design suites where customers work with designers, viewing both 3D and 2D images and plans of their kitchen on a 55in screen.

Wren currently has nine other showrooms in the London area including Enfield, Orpington, Hayes and Romford.
