Following the release of Wreckfest 2 Content Update 5 earlier this week, Bugbear has pushed out a follow up patch aimed at cleaning up some rough edges and tightening up the overall experience. The update focuses on stability, gameplay tuning and a handful of quality of life improvements tied to the new content.
On the technical side, several crashes related to DLSS have been resolved, VRAM estimation in the settings menu has been improved and a few edge case crashes tied to replays, challenges, and car changes have been addressed. Performance issues tied to specific tracks and visual glitches, including odd material rendering on cars, have also been cleaned up.
Gameplay sees some notable improvements, especially around collisions and damage. Car to car impacts now feel more consistent, mid level crashes deal more appropriate damage and suspension behavior has been smoothed across the vehicle roster. A few odd physics issues, including unintended launches and premature derby challenge endings, have also been fixed.
The Crap It editor received a round of tweaks with stability improvements, better camera behavior and fixes for paint layers, dirt materials and decal limits. Several AI paint designs were improved and missing visual elements on certain cars were restored. Interface updates focus on making challenges and menus easier to navigate. Challenge targets are now clearer before races, progress flows more smoothly after completion and various focus and input issues across menus, multiplayer lobbies and replays have been resolved.
Force feedback has been strengthened and better tuned by default, particularly on muddy surfaces with improved responsiveness across supported wheels. Audio also received subtle refinements, especially in cockpit view with smoother engine transitions, more balanced stereo mixing and improved tire and reverb effects.
