Bugbear and THQ Nordic have released patch #2 for the latest Wreckfest 2 content update. The patch brings a number of gameplay and technical tweaks aimed at smoothing out the experience.
Handling and collisions have been improved in online races, while the automatic gearbox has seen some logic improvements. The Motorhome AI set has been added and the vehicle itself now carries more weight. All cars have sturdier rear wheels, which should help with stability during chaotic moments.
Multiplayer physics surfaces are now behaving as expected and the European Rallycross track once again features its procedural terrain foliage. AI drivers in derby events have been dialed back a bit, making them less aggressive toward players.
On the technical side there’s now a proper notification when resetting isn’t allowed and a bug that prevented reset requests from registering has been resolved. HUD elements have also been cleaned up, with fixes for lingering scores after restarts and engine sounds that previously went missing. Photo Mode zoom has been corrected and driver memory usage has been optimized to help performance.
Wreckfest 2 is available on Steam Early Access, giving PC players the first shot at the action. As for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, those versions are still on the way, though there’s no confirmed release date just yet.
